Sermon July 7, 2013: When the Strong Are Weak

DSCN0579“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV)

Many centuries ago, Israel had done wrong in the eyes of God.  Because of it, God had allowed the Philistines to rule over the Israelites.  In Israel there was a woman who had no children. An angel appeared to this woman, and told her that she will have a son, and that her son will begin the process of delivering Israel from the Philistines.  The son was named Samson, and he was born into every spiritual advantage possible in his day.

Not every life we read about in the bible is a good example.  Samson had incredible physical strength.  But Samson struggled with lustful desires, and entitlement attitude, and pride.  These attitudes weakened Samson’s strength and provided vulnerabilities in his life.  Listen as Pastor Dan shares from his heart and God’s word.

“…My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2Corinthians 12:9

Songs: Where Do I Go, Strong Tower, Love the Lord, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, and Ten Thousand Reasons
